Evidence-based practice is key in nursing as it helps in solving clinical problems and enhancing positive patient outcomes. However, the evidence-based practice needs to be implemented using various strategies. Nonetheless, there are various barriers and obstacles to the evidence-based practice implementation which can negatively impact the implementation process (Li et al., 2019). The implication is that the implementers have to identify them and timeously solve them if the implementation process has to be a success.

Various obstacles exist that have to be overcome. One of the main obstacles is insufficient knowledge of the EBP implementation process. In some cases, nurses who are to implement the projects for practice lack the required knowledge to do so, hence a need for training. The other barrier is the lack of enough resources or insufficient resources. The implementation of evidence-based practice, in most cases, requires a process of change, hence a need to procure financial, material, and human resources (Li et al., 2019). However, in the phase of insufficiency, then the implementation process can be derailed. The other possible barrier is the lack of organizational support. Successful implementation requires that the organizations where the EBP is to be implemented are supportive; as such, lack of the same may hinder the process.

One of the obstacles that could impact the implementation of my EBP project is the potential lack of enough resources. The project entails finding out the impact of culturally tailored diabetes education as compared to the traditional education program on diabetes self-management among Hispanic adults. The implication is that enough resources are needed, such as the resources to get educational material and content (Alatawi et al., 2020). In addition, the educators or trainers will have to be recruited and trained to help in the education process. All these can be hindered in the face of limited resources.
