Personal Leadership Philosophy Essay
Individuals, communities, and organizations should be inspired to achieve different life goals. Leadership is critical to this inspiration as great leaders influence people through elaborate visions, purposes, and plans. To excel in this area, leaders should be conversant with their strengths and utilize them to benefit other people. They should also have a philosophy that guides them in routine practice and a vision that defines their identity and principles. This paper describes my leadership philosophy, including core values and vision, CliftonStrengths assessment, areas to be strengthened, and a development plan.

A Description of Core Values
Great leaders should be visionary, courageous, and lead with a clear focus. They should also possess admirable traits that attract people to follow their vision, including honesty, integrity, and transparency. In agreement with Rey et al. (2019), the essence of leadership is helping other people to achieve their goals and taking pride in their successes. Above all, leaders must not be self-centered. They should be servants and not use their position to achieve individual successes (Best, 2020). Instead, leadership should influence people positively and work towards a common dream.
Personal Vision
Influencing others by serving as a leader I would also want to lead me. I will lead exemplary by fostering inclusivity, open communication, and a collaborative approach to everyday tasks. I should use my strengths to create effective and exciting work environments.
Analysis of Clifton Strengths Assessment
The leading theme in my signature theme report is self-assurance. It implies that I am confident in taking risks and managing my life. I am also exceptionally talented in the command aspect- I can control situations effectively and make tough decisions. However, as Porter-O’Grady et al. (2019) suggested, leaders must not treat people carelessly when in a command position. I regard the same principle and respect others as I avoid treating them off-handedly. It is a trait that I should continue applying to get things done quickly. Other themes in the top-five list include activator, analytical, and being deliberative. Activators make things happen by turning thoughts into action, while analytical people comprehensively evaluate factors that affect a situation. A deliberative leader is vigilant in decision-making and anticipates obstacles. Porter-O’Grady et al. (2019) described deliberative leaders as clear about their stance and willing to share the logic behind their arguments. Hence, they are associated with minimal conflicts.
Behaviors that I Wish to Strengthen and a Development Plan
From the feedback I received in the module 2 discussion, I should focus more on empathy and communication. As a result, I should strengthen my behaviors related to empathy and communication. On empathy, the most effective approach to improvement is getting out of my usual environment. I should meet more diverse people, particularly from new places and cultures. As the foundation of cultural competence, meeting diverse groups makes people appreciate others better (Nair & Adetayo, 2019). This goal can be achieved by traveling or interacting more with diverse people in the workplace. Regarding communication, I should be more open to other people’s feedback, embrace active listening, and examine biases that hamper my ability to listen, socialize, and empathize. Adopting a tolerant and inclusive spirit will strengthen empathy and communication. It will also help me achieve my vision since people cannot be positively influenced without inclusion and tolerance. Collaboration also thrives where leaders embrace diversity and inclusion.
Conclusion
Leadership should be purpose-driven and visionary. Leaders should have a personal philosophy and a vision defining their identities and principles to achieve this goal. Leaders should also utilize their strengths when leading and influencing teams. As a result, they should assess their strengths using the CliftonStrengths. My top five themes include self-assurance, command, activator, analytical, and deliberative. I will utilize my strengths appropriately to influence others positively as I improve communication and empathy.
