Servant leaders in comparison to leaders that use transformational model, manage organization dynamics and lead change to ascertain continued success of stakeholders in different ways. At the core of servant leadership is prioritization of others’ needs and service to them before considering individual interests. Servant leaders influence others to develop a positive attitude to service and ensuring that managers exist to serve their employees (Eva et al., 2019). Through this approach, employees under servant leaders experience increased levels of trust and feel safe to generate ideas, pursue professional development and have honest interactions and conversations. Transformational leaders believe in the power of encouraging subordinates in organization to hone their individuality and contribute to changes (Asbari, 2020). The implication is that transformational model focuses on each team member and employee while supporting positive transformation from within for the common good.

At the core of the transformational leadership model is changing the status quo as opposed to servant leaders who may not be keen on initiating changes but only focusing on prioritization of followers’ needs and concerns (Saleem et al., 2020). Therefore, servant leaders manage the dynamics of organizations by ensuring that they prioritize what offers increased benefits for the common good for the individuals in the entity. Leading change under servant leadership requires better approaches and understanding of the situation so that a leader focuses on the most critical aspects like the transformational leaders.

Transformational leadership is the most appropriate approach to these tasks because it focuses on motivating and inspiring employees and subordinates to support changes and embrace an innovative attitude to doing things (Asbari, 2020). Unlike servant leaders whose focus is serving others, transformational leaders go beyond service offering and implore employees to change the status quo through innovative ideas. Like servant leaders, transformational leaders are keen on developing critical interventions to enhance overall performance of employees and increased organizational benefits.

The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) (2022) asserts that communication is a vital management aspect of an organization because of the critical role that it plays, especially in managing crucial conversations. Crucial conversations are an integral part of internal communication as they allow one to express their feelings, feel connected, understood, and appreciated. Crucial conversations aim at embracing issues and using healthier ways to understand and mitigate any situations in the workplace or personal environment. The features of crucial conversations include opposing views, high stakes, and strong emotions (Mitchell et al., 2018). Therefore, effective strategies to manage these conversations include beginning from the heart or from an emotional perspective, staying in dialogue to remain on track and avoid emotions getting the best of individuals or situations, creation of a shared pool of meaning, and ensuring that there is safety for successful bond of communication. Further, ensuring that one is not hooked to emotions and making a consensus on action an action plan are vital aspects of managing these conversations.

Communication plays a critical role in the management of diverse teams based on gender, culture and even generations because individuals in any situation conceive messaging and approach by considering these factors. Verbal cue, use of social media and its features and giving a detailed account of different situations in diverse teams must align with the acceptable communication approaches and channels. For instance, the tech savvy generation of millennials may have different ways of communication compared to the retiring baby boomers who may be stuck to the old or traditional means of communication like letters (Priftanji et al., 2020). The implication is that these aspects affect communication; especially in messaging and passage of information.

A situation in professional life when a leader demonstrated effective communication strategy was when informing employees of the new policy on the use of digital devices in the workplace. The leader categorized employees into different groups and sent relevant message with same policy guidelines. For millennials, the leader used their social media accounts but for the older generations, the leader deployed letters in their mails.
