Stakeholders’ support is crucial for the success of any organization. Stakeholders refer to people and entities with vested interests in the health care organization. Their support is critical for the successful operation and performance of the organization (Rupcic, 2019). The present capstone project seeks to adopt health education on lifestyle changes to reduce adolescent obesity rates. The internal stakeholders include nurse educators, dietician, exercise experts, behavioral counselor, and management. They play essential roles of ensuring the implementation of the project intervention through the application of appropriate knowledge and skills and also providing proper leadership necessary in facilitating the implementation of the suggested change initiative (Petkovic et al., 2020). Therefore, the support of internal stakeholders is an integral component of successful project implementation.

External stakeholders in health care organizations are Research organizations such as the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) and NIH Obesity Research Task Force. Professional organizations are also crucial stakeholders. They include the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC), World Obesity Federation, the Obesity Society, and the American Society of Bariatric Counselors.  Other important external stakeholder is Public Awareness Organizations such as Obesity Action Coalition, National Institute for Children’s Healthcare Quality: Be Our Voice, and NCSM: Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. These organizations play critical role of providing resources for project implementation and creating policies address childhood obesity.


Stakeholders’ support can be realized by creating awareness through effective communication and involvement. The organization needs to satisfy the requirements of the stakeholders and manage their expectations. When managing a project, it is crucial to demonstrate to stakeholders what the project will deliver to them, the associated benefits, and what they require from the project (Shaukat et al., 2022). That is, the stakeholders should be given what they want and they will give back to the project what is needed from them.
