Reliability and Validity in Research Design Paper
Reliability and validity are the concepts used in the evaluation of research quality. The method, tools, and design used in a research study need to be tested to approve their effectiveness in research (Keogh et al., 2019). All research studies always have the reliability and validity discussion to complement the quality of the study to the reader. This paper will distinguish the difference between reliability and validity in a research design using a translation research article.
The study by Greenberg et al. (2020), determines the impact of ROU protocol on opioid exposure, inpatient recovery, pain control, and complication rates among patients who have undergone radical cystectomy.The test found that 52% of tested patients who went through the ROU protocolhad a significant decrease in opioid exposure in the post-anesthesia care unit. The validity and reliability of the tested result were significant in applying the research to human beings because the POU protocol reduced by 77% without compromising on the pain or worsening the rate of complications.

The reliability of the study instruments was obtained through the sample selected. All the samples selected for the research had a preexisting condition that was important in the study. For instance, the study included patientswho had gone through RC between 2017 and 2018. The reliability and validity are significant in determining the quality and generalizability of the study and its effect on human beings. The measures ensure that the tools used in the study are able to meet the objectives of the study. Increased quality implies high validityand reliability of the tools used.
