Pursuing a nursing career is one of the best decisions in my entire life. In my interaction with my community personally and professionally, I have realized that the community faces various challenges that impact health outcomes, wellbeing, and quality of life. The ultimate solution to these challenges is policy changes, but the community lacks people who can stand up and advocate for the much-needed changes. In my role as a community nurse, I will step forward as an advocate of the community and champion for policy changes on matters that improve health outcomes and the wellbeing of communities. In particular, I will for equal provision of community resources that support health promotion, proper nutrition, and wellness of all community members. With the rising cases of preventable chronic conditions, building the capacity of the community members to become responsible for their health outcomes is the most effective approach to disease prevention and improvement of the quality of life.
