Data collection is a key component of research. One of the data collection tools that can be used for my research is the questionnaires. Questionnaires have widely been used in collecting data in research processes as they are key in collecting standardized data and formulating generalizations (Aithal & Aithal, 2020). They are more effective if they are formulated to reflect study objectives and goals.
Even though data collection is a key component of a research process, various barriers could arise during data collection, hence a need to overcome such and ensure that the process is successful. Translational research can be useful in overcoming the barrier. The data used in translational research is compiled from different sources (Uzozie& Aebersold, 2018). Specimen records from blood samples, tumor sequences, exome or genome sequences, and identified patient data can be used. Through translational research, important discoveries and relevant developments important to human health are generated, helping to efficiently and rapidly transfer the new discoveries into clinical application.

One of the best types of translational research to address such a barrier is the T1 investigation. This type of translational research deals with the examination of a fundamental research’s result application and/or clinical impact. It also helps in using the best intervention to overcome various clinical problems (Boswell& Cannon, 2022). Some of the approaches include phase I clinical trials, proof of concept, first in humans or healthy volunteers, human physiology, and preclinical and animal research. Various strategies can be used to enhance an understanding of translational research and obtain collaborative support. Some of the strategies include establishment and explanation of the set objectives, making the collaboration expectations concise and clear, encouraging and enhancing honest and free conversation, and engaging and supporting a collaborative working atmosphere (Boswell & Cannon, 2022). The other important strategy is remaining open to other experts’ opinions and highlighting possible strengths and weaknesses.
