Statistical significance is defined as the EBP factors that show the extent and probability that research findings are valid (Banik et al., 2020). There are differences between clinical and statistical significance. In research analysis, findings are regarded as statistically significant when the p-value generated in the research analysis is lesser than the level of confidence that researchers expected. The p-value is always set at 0.05, which illustrates a 5% possibility that the results of the study did not depend on probability and a 95% sureness of the real association between variables examined and the study (Imbens, 2021). Contrarily, the clinical significance refers to a subjective assumption that the findings of a research are consequential for the implementation in the patient care and are also likely to influence the behavior of the care providers (Banik et al., 2020). As such, clinically significant outcomes occur when healthcare providers are satisfied that the research findings are appropriate to guide medical decisions and can be applied to direct patient healthcare delivery.
