Key Points

There are a few key points to keep in mind when debating gun rights. First, the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to bear arms. This right is essential to self-defense and ensuring that citizens can protect themselves from tyranny. Second, gun control laws (open carry laws) have been shown to be ineffective at reducing crime. In fact, they often have the opposite effect, as criminals are not deterred by these laws (Harrison, 2020). Finally, gun control measures (Ammunition and safety) typically infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to stop criminals. For these reasons, gun rights advocates argue that stricter gun control measures are not the answer to reducing crime.

Sources of Information

The two sources of information that support the key points of the argument include: Article I, Michael W. A. (2022, 0 1). Rights, Responsibilities, and Guns.
