Management of human resources is one of the main pillars directly affecting healthcare. Healthcare professionals operate within an ethical code and conduct that ensures a positive patient outcome (Fischer, 2017). Nurses at Saint Louis Medical Center (SLMC) have a major role in increasing the quality-of-service delivery because they spend more time with the patients. The purpose of this paper is to identify and articulate the results of a Magnet report on transformational leadership received from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Effective leadership style applied in the healthcare industry is essential in strengthening and integrating healthcare delivery. Many healthcare institutions have failed to meet the magnet status because of poor leadership style. In the recent past, the high quality of services offered in the health care institution often depended on the input of the nurses (Boamah et al., 2018). This implies that adopting strategies that look into the well-being of nurses would provide nurses with the urge to raise the standards in health care delivery. Nurses tend to face various issues such as fatigue, burnout, bullying and harassment, workplace violence, and poor working conditions. The increased prevalence of these issues lowers the nurses’ work output, which further affects the quality of care. However, the transformational leadership style allows managers to feel what the nurses are feeling and prioritize their well-being.
Leadership has been defined as the connection between individuals leading and those being led. Despite the significance of numerous leadership styles in the health care setting, the transformational leadership style has been effective in the modern universe because of the sector’s integration to attain the highest level of service delivery (Collins et al., 2019). Transformational leadership is the main ingredient that aids in establishing effective nursing surrounding that would aid in the attainment of objectives in my practicum setting. This kind of leadership focuses on working with a team in creating change.
The skills and training that commences from the doctor in charge of the department trickled down to all trainees in the facility. The leadership style gives our institution the best opportunity to interact with new methods of working within healthcare departments to lead a transformation that the future of the department will be relying on to dispense its services (Collins et al., 2019). Besides, this style entails guiding a vision through inspiration and executing transformation in tandem with a committed group of people. The transformation leadership style would first dwell on developing a team who would be working within a given favorable environment to realize a particular change in the health care institution.

Boamah et al. (2018) found that a transformational leadership style increases job satisfaction and patient safety outcome. Such managers promote critical thinking abilities that aid in integrating positive changes in healthcare. For instance, essential thinking abilities lead to the development of better evidence-based management strategies that bring a positive patient outcome.
These four major components of transformational leadership work together in developing a leadership approach that changes systems and individuals. The style creates a valuable and positive change that allows followers to develop into leaders (Boamah et al., 2018). Besides, it grooms followers with unique leadership skills that are significant in healthcare.
Fischer (2017) attributes the success of nurse education to transformational leadership. This model allows the nurse managers to interact more with the nurses that able to understand their strengths and weaknesses. Understanding nurse abilities is important in developing a better and more effective training model that sharpens the nurse skills in healthcare.
Drawing facts from the above summary, it is imperative to conclude that transformational leadership has an impact on attaining magnet status in healthcare institutions. Saint Louis Medical Center (SLMC) has a role in ensuring that a transformational leadership style is developed within all the departments to meet its objectives. You, the nurse director, will present your findings to the SLMC board of directors, in an executive summary format (CO 2, 3), b) articulate and include the key components of an executive summary in your report (CO 5), and c) provide empirical, scholarly evidence to support your assignment (CO 4).
NOTE: As the nurse executive of SLMC, you may choose one item from any of the following Magnet Model Components to discuss and present to the SLMC board of directors, in your executive summary. There is no written report of a Magnet Survey; you have the flexibility to choose what you would like to discuss in this assignment. For example, you may state in your report that your Magnet model component is structural empowerment and you wish to implement a new nurse model since the results of your Magnet report were not acceptable in this area.

- Clearly introduce your executive summary in the introduction paragraph. Include a sentence that states the purpose of your assignment.
- Clearly identify and articulate the issue and component from the Magnet model to be communicated to the board of directors at SLMC by you, the nurse executive. Discuss how your choice may affect your healthcare environment and transform healthcare.
- Key components of an executive summary format, related to the results of the Magnet report, should be included and clearly articulated. (Examples are in your textbook or you may search for them on the web). Include in your executive summary how this assignment relates to the Person-centred Framework by McCormack and McCance (2017).
- Include of a minimum of three sources of scholarly, empirical evidence to support the issue to be communicated.
- Provide concluding statements that should summarize your overall assignment content.
- The paper will be no longer than three pages maximum, excluding title and reference page(s).
