Modern technology has played a significant role in transforming the health care system. The increased application of modern technology in health care has improved safety and quality of care. Telehealth is the increased use of digital information and communication technologies to access health care services remotely. Digital technology is looking for effective ways of providing health care services to patients residing in remote areas (Ding et al., 2020). Therefore, the purpose of this assignment is to formulate an annotated bibliography on a nursing technology.

This topic was selected because of the increased application of the technology in many hospitals in the US. The current telehealth transformation in many health care units aims at increasing the accessibility of health care services to people living in remote areas. Rolling out of telehealth programs in health care institutions has improved accessibility of health care services calling for other health care units to devise measures of improving safety and quality of care(Ding et al., 2020). This topic’s choice would help me venture into the modern technology that is currently changing the mode of operation in many health care units in the US.

Databases with scientific articles were selected and then searched all articled published about technology and healthcare. Google scholar was the leading site used in finding the articles on telehealth. In my search process, my search terms were”telehealth,”where I was able to find all articles published on the topic in the last five years.
